I checked my home messages two days ago and had the following: "Hi, this is Ed Muderlak. I'm parked in front of your neighbors hangar in my motor home. Are you around?"..... So, I flew into Fbx yesterday after constructing a drill pad out in the mountains and took Ed to my house for my famous seafood pasta and Parker talk. What a treat. He had a final cut on his new book, which I signed up for a ltd. edition of. If anyone has not seen any of it, his new book is not at all duplicitous of the Parker Story; it is totally different, covers much ground not previously covered and is well worth having, just for the pictures if nothing else. It is packed with incredible pics not seen before. He has really done some homework. I look forward to getting mine. I showed him my anemic Parker collection and he noticed that my VHE20, my mother's gun, does not say Parker Bros on the sides or PARKER on the bottom. There is no inscription on the sides of the frame. It's a transition gun. I've owned that thing for 35 yrs and never noticed that even once. Ed figured that once Murphy found out he would just have to have it.... not a chance Bill.... that one's not for sale! Figured some would find this interesting.
He's headed your way Trigg. I told him you might be able to take him shooting at Birchwood or hunting at Garys. He has an incredibly well trained upland lab with him. He can even direct him to which tire on which rig to pee on! Impressive and very well mannered dog who would get along with Dodger well I think.

We returned to Kodiak yesterday. So, if Ed is of a mind to take the ferry, we be here. I'm sure we could put up Nancy and Parker dog! Might be able to find a place for Ed as well!

Rich,
I am glad you got to talk to Ed. He had called me and we had a long talk. He had not reached you so I gave him your cell number, but it appears you found him. He is going to contact me again when he get to our area.

| Dave, will your pup hunt with a Lab? Think about this, now. My Wirehair eats Labs for lunch but would like Parker Dog. I don't think they've met, but I'm confident.

| The wee English Setter runs with a Golden Lab half again bigger then Parker Dog most every day up here in Kodiak. But, she has never actually hunted with one. She normally hunts with her daughter, Dashar; a big English Pointer, Bonnie B; or a German Wirehair, Buck.

Ed is baching it with Parkerdog. Nancy had to go to Chicago due to a death in the family. He'll be here until this coming weekend I think then is headed towards Anchorage. I sure would like to see Parkerdog and Dodger work birds together....

As one ages, I'm told, memory is one of the first things that suffers while the others are . . . uh, . . . what was the question again?

It was indeed a good visit Destry. I'm half way through the copy of Knight of the Trigger he gave me. Good read also. I gave him a very nice thick-beamed trophy caribou antler I picked up out here on the job this summer for his home collection. It will go well with the nice moose antler my neighbor gave him.

The front wall of the big red barn is full of them, those should fit right in.
Most from his bow hunting days out west, some from the farm in Illinois, and a few nice pickups.
